By taking a 3D model of your tooth, CEREC can sculpt a restoration, sculpted flawlessly to fit the individual tooth. The model, which is refined using state of the art software and technology, is bonded to the damaged tooth using a resin. This process is virtually painless and can take place in a single sitting, making it a perfect option for people with a busy schedule. CEREC is short for Ceramic (CE) Reconstruction (REC). Other important abbreviations relating to CERED include, CAD which stands for Computer Aided Design, and CAM which stands for Computer Aided Manufacture. Both CAD and CAM are imperative in the process of CEREC.
