The first person to settle in Sacramento did so in 1839 at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers. Following this time it was to be the largest of many cities to come during the great gold strike in 1848. Founded in 1849, Sacramento lay in the northern region in the Valley of California and was found to be a fertile area.
In 1850, California became a state taking Sacramento as its’ capital city four years later.
Today history is embraced, with museums celebrating the pioneers of the gold strike years, the pony express and the California state railroad museum. When in the area there are also many services available such as financial, health and beauty.
